Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, walked into London`s private King Edward VII Hospital after he was advised by his doctor to be admitted after he felt unwell.
"He is comfortable and responding to treatment but is not expected to leave the hospital for several days," Buckingham Palace said.

Philip, who is also known as the Duke of Edinburgh and has sometimes drawn attention with headline-grabbing gaffes, has been by the queen's side throughout her 65 years on the throne and she has described him as "my strength and stay".
