Veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, while playing for Mumbai Indians, slapped Kings XI Punjab pacer (now Punjab Kings) S Sreesanth during a league match of the IPL 2008 season.

New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Neesham and Australia`s Glenn Maxwell might have had a poor run in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL), but the two cricketers played match-winning knocks for their respective national teams on Friday.

Australia were handed a boost when it was announced that India skipper Virat Kohli will be returning home after the first Test - for the birth of his first child. Australia's star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell however named one Indian player who can replace Kohli. Maxwell named his KXIP teammate KL Rahul - who was the Orange Cap winner in IPL 2020. Maxwell said that the in-form batsman can replace Kohli.

Virender Sehwag had recently taken a sly dig at KXIP's star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell for his poor performance in IPL 2020. Maxwell, however, gave a classy response to Sehwag - saying that the former player is in the media for such statements. Maxwell was bought for a whopping Rs 10.75 crores but managed to score just 108 runs in this edition.

The two sides are slated to play three Twenty20Is, three-match ODI series and four-match Test series, beginning November 27 at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). 

Kings XI Punjab were knocked out of IPL 2020 when they lost their last league game against Chennai Super Kings by 9 wickets on Sunday (November 1). Chris Gayle caused a storm on social media with a Tweet that he posted after the loss. Gayle was brilliant in this edition, scoring 288 runs from just 7 games and his inclusion into the side led to Kings XI winning their next 5 games on the trot.

In match number 53 of IPL 2020, Chennai Super Kings defeated Kings XI Punjab by 9 wickets on Sunday (Nov 1) at Abu Dhabi. Kings XI's campaign, thus, ended with this loss as they failed to qualify for IPL 2020 playoffs Kings XI had posted a competitive 153/6 on the board but in reply CSK chased down the total easily with Ruturaj Gaikwad scoring 62*.

Kings XI Punjab must win this crucial game to remain in the hunt for a playoff spot. CSK, the first team to go out of IPL 2020 will come out all guns blazing with nothing but pride to play for.

Kings XI Punjab's Chris Gayle became the first cricketer to hit 1000 sixes in T20 cricket. Gayle reached the astonishing feat during his thrilling knock of 99 against Rajasthan Royals on Friday (October 30). The innings however went in vain as a combined effort from Rajasthan saw them win the game by 7 wickets.

Gayle threw his bat away is disappointment after getting out on 99 off a Jofra Archer delivery in the last over of the Kings XI Punjab's innings. Following the clash, the KXIP batsman admitted to the Level 1 offence 2.2 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction. KXIP are currently standing at the fourth place in the IPL 2020 points table with six wins from 13 matches.

The victory saw Rajasthan Royals climb up to the fifth spot from seventh place in the IPL 2020 points table. RR now have six wins from 13 matches and are now standing just behind KXIP, who have same number of victories in hand but have better net run-rate than Rajasthan. In the previous clash between the two sides this season, Rajasthan Royals swept aside Kings XI Punjab by four wickets in Sharjah.
