Rahul Gandhi-led Opposition today extended its support to farmers The opposition leaders joined the ‘Kisan Sansad’ at Jantar Mantar

The women's 'Kisan Sansad' commenced with the singing of the national anthem, followed by the observation of a two-minute silence in the memory of the farmers who have died during the eight-month agitation.

Eight months have passed since the farmers' protest against the agricultural laws, after which women farmers reached Delhi's Jantar Mantar on Monday to be a part of the ongoing 'Kisan Sansad'. SKM said on Sunday, "The Mahila Kisan Sansad will reflect the important role of women in Indian agriculture and also their important role in the ongoing movement."

After eight months of severe winter, scorching heat and rain, farmers' protests against three controversial agricultural laws reached Jantar Mantar, a few meters from Parliament, on Thursday. Monsoon session is going on in Parliament at present. The farmers have decided to continue the 'Kisan Sansad' till the monsoon session.

Farmers protesting agaisnt the Centre's three agri laws have organised  'Kisan Sansad' at central Delhi's Jantar Mantar on Thursday (July 22). 'Kisan Sansad', which is organised at a few metres away from Parliament, was to show that farmers' agitation is 'still alive and tell the Centre that they too know how to run the Parliament'.
