New research shows that air pollution in Kolkata becomes highly toxic when PM2.5 levels cross 70 µg/m³, urging stronger pollution control steps.
In the study based on research in ten major Indian cities, it has been revealed that 7.3 percent of the total deaths in Kolkata, which comes to 4,700 a year, were attributable to short-term PM 2.5 emissions.
