Nitin Menon was hailed for giving 'Not-Out' decision to a close run-out call. England thought they had got their man, in this instance being Steve Smith, but Menon ruled it 'not out'.

Sri Lanka vs Australia 3rd ODI witnessed an interesting incident as on-field umpire Kumar Dharmasena, standing at square leg, acted like he was going to catch the ball after Australian batter Alex Carey lofted it towards the position.

Menon, who has officiated in three Tests, 24 ODIs and 16 T20Is, will replace England umpire Nigel Llong in the panel. 

Heavy rain washed out the final session of the first day of the second Test between New Zealand and England at Seddon Park in Hamilton on Friday.

While the fourth Test match will take place at Old Trafford from September 4, the fifth and final match will take place at the Oval beginning September 12.

Gabriel's comment to Joe Root was not audible to television viewers but, Root was heard replying to the bowler ,"Don't use it as an insult. There's nothing wrong with being gay."

According to reports, Gabriel's comments were not picked up by stump microphones but Root was heard telling the bowler, "There's nothing wrong with being gay".

Andy Pycroft of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees imposed the fine after Morgan's side was ruled to be one over short of its target.

Dharmasena is on the ICC’s Elite panel of umpires but has endured a difficult time while officiating during the recent games.

For England, Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow were in the middle at close of play on day two with their team still trailing by 352 runs.
