Son of filmmaker FU Ramsay, Kumar Ramsay along with his six other brothers pioneered the horror film genre in India by creating cult films like Purana Mandir, Khoj and Saaya to name a few.

Kumar Ramsay was instrumental in scripting most of their films, including Purana Mandir, Saaya, and Khoj.
His younger brothers Tulsi and Shyam passed away in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
Arjun, who did post-production and editing of their films, died in 2019.
