Congress has accused the government of causing loss to the public exchequer and endangering national security by bypassing HAL in favour of some businessman "friends" for offset contract.

Deposits of scrapped currency notes made by central government employees post demonetisation will be probed by anti-corruption watchdog Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), its chief K V Chowdary said on Sunday.

Central Vigilance Commissioner KV Chowdary will attend a meeting of anti-corruption agencies of SAARC nations in Pakistan later this month, when such a meeting is being held for the first time.

CVC said a whistleblower is the one who has the direct and personal information or leads which are very useful in an investigation.

Lack of awareness about vigilance procedures has resulted in corruption and misconduct in India, Central Vigilance Commissioner said on Wednesday.

In another push to India's bid to bring back black money stashed abroad, CVC KV Chowdary has asserted that all state parties should ensure cooperation in dissemination of information without any impediment of bank secrecy laws, to the requesting country.

All central government departments have been asked to do away with "outdated" processes and to have Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to check corruption, Central Vigilance Commissioner KV Chowdary said here on Friday.

 Along the lines of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Maan ki Baat' programme, Central Vigilance Commissioner K V Chowdary would interact with people on Monday via radio on the issue of anti-corruption.
