Thousands of Brazilians staged protests across the country against a proposed government reform of the retirement system.

The Centre is likely to announce a hike of 2-4 percent in dearness allowance for its about 50 lakh employees and 58 lakh pensioners later this month.

An employees union of Foxconn India on Monday said that they have been told the company is closing its plant near here tomorrow, but it could not confirmed with the management.

The talks between the management and its Labour Unions held in the presence of Labour Department officials were inconclusive, Foxconn India Employee Union President E Muthu Kumar said.
