Responding to a question on how India and the US are planning to handle a belligerent China, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said the two countries have a shared objective of betterment and strengthening of the Indo-Pacific.

Senior commanders of Indian and Chinese army held tenth round of military talks to discuss and take forward the disengagement process at friction points like Hot Springs, Gogra and Depsang in eastern Ladakh on Saturday. India and China have reached an agreement on the northern-southern edges of Pangong Lake, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said in Rajya Sabha today. According to the agreement, the armies of both countries will move from the border.

Sources close to the development said the withdrawal of troops from training facilities located in depth areas may have taken place due to the harsh winter, adding it does not have any impact on their operational deployment in any of the areas along the LAC.
