Kiran Rao’s directorial debut, ‘Laapataa Ladies,’ has been selected as India’s official entry for the Academy Awards, marking the third film from Aamir Khan Productions to achieve this honor.

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan's production shared a video of the intimate celebrations of 'Lagaan' team on social media. The video played the song Chale Chalo from the film while the team can be seen having a great time together. 

Released in 2021, 'Lagaan' was produced by Aamir Khan, who stars alongside debutant Gracy Singh and British actors Rachel Shelley and Paul Blackthorne.  

Aamir Khan has appeared in a new video from the sets of Laal Singh Chaddha and he thanked the audience as his film Lagaan completed 20 years on Tuesday. Aamir Lal Singh Chaddha will be seen in the lead role in the film, which is a Hindi remake of Hollywood film Forrest Gump.

Lagaan, directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, and starring the likes of Aamir Khan, Gracey Singh and Paul Blackthorne was a fictional period-drama set in 1893, during the late Victorian period of India's colonial British Raj. The story revolves around a small village in Central India, whose inhabitants, burdened by high taxes, and several years of drought, find themselves in an extraordinary situation as an arrogant British army officer challenges them to a game of cricket, as a wager to avoid paying the taxes they owe. Indian cricket team, though, played ther first official match much later -- against England on June 28, 1932. It was not a fairytale result as India lost to a full-strength England side by 158 runs at Lord's.
