Senior commanders of Indian and Chinese army held tenth round of military talks to discuss and take forward the disengagement process at friction points like Hot Springs, Gogra and Depsang in eastern Ladakh on Saturday (February 20).
This round of Corps Commander-level talks began at 10 in the morning and went on till 9:45 in the night at the Moldo border point on the Chinese side of the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
The 20th round of India- China WMCC talks will take place virtually later today
WMCC is an institutional mechanism, established in 2012, for consultation and coordination for the management of India - China border areas.
The last such round of talks happened on 30th September.
Along with the enemy across the border, the Indian Army is also working on war footing to fight the extremely harsh winters by building new shelters and prefabricated structures for the soldiers.
The Indian Army is battle-ready to face the Chinese Army with its T-90 and T-72 tanks along with the BMP-2 Infantry Combat Vehicles which can operate at temperatures up to minus 40 degree Celsius.
The Eastern Ladakh area witnesses the harshest winters where temperatures normally dip to minus 35 degrees in the night during winters coupled with high-speed freezing winds.
