The Lion Air flight -- JT052 -- with 212 passengers landed at the Thiruvananthapuram International airport at 3 pm on Tuesday for refuelling and left the airport on Wednesday evening.

The pictures of the damaged terminal building and the aircraft have surfaced online, showing the broken winglet of the aircraft and damaged glass of the building.

The Lion Air and Ethiopian Airlines' aircraft were Boeing MAX 8s and both crashed minutes post-take-off after pilots reported flight control problems.

Pilots flying the same plane a day earlier had experienced a similar problem until they used switches to shut off the system and used manual controls to fly and stabilise the plane.

The nearly new Boeing Co. 737 MAX passenger plane had crashed into the sea on October 29 just minutes after taking off from Jakarta en route to Bangka island near Sumatra.

Suneja, 31, was flying the Lion Air flight JT610 which lost contact with ground officials, 13 minutes after taking off from an airport in Indonesia, and crashed into the Java Sea, tragically ending all possibilities of his homecoming.

Based out of Delhi, the 31-year-old pilot studied in Ahlcon Public School in Mayur Vihar Phase 1. 

All 188 persons on-board the aircraft are presumed dead.
