Lakhs of devotees thronged the sacred coastal town of Puri on Sunday to witness  Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra. The holy siblings are scheduled to return to the sanctum sanctorum of the 12th-century shrine in a special ritual called ‘Niledri Bije’ on Tuesday.

According to the Odisha government's official records, "he was one of the most remembered devotional poets of Odisha who dedicated his entire career and life to the glorification of Lord Jagannath. He was one of the greatest devotees of Shree Jagannath, and his devotional songs are sung by generations of Odia devotees in praise of the Lord."

The sacred Jagannath Rath Yatra 2025 is more than just a religious celebration—it's a spiritual journey of devotion, faith, and divine connection. ISKCON Kolkata used Sukhoi fighter jet tyres on Lord Jagannath's chariot for the Rath Yatra, marking a unique blend of tradition and modern engineering.

The annual Jagannath Puri Rath Yatra is being celebrated with pomp, devotion, and enthusiasm. The Rath Yatra started on June 20, 2023, and will culminate on June 28, 2023, in the temple town of Puri in Odisha.

President Droupadi Murmu, who hails from a tribal community in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district, also touched the Aruna Stambha, the 16-sided 34 feet tall monolithic chlorite stone pillar in front of the Lion's Gate (Singhadwara) of the Lord Jagannath Temple. 

Shree Jagannath Sena, a Puri-based outfit, submitted a memorandum to President Droupadi Murmu, seeking her intervention to facilitate the process of bringing back the Kohinoor diamond to the 12th-century shrine.

Ulta Rath Yatra 2022: This is the day when the chariots make their way out of the Garden House or 'Adapa Mandapa' in Gundicha temple. Whilst their way back home, the chariots stop for a while at the Mausima Temple where they are offered Odisha's popular dish 'poda pitha'.
