A special court today granted bail to former Rajya Sabha MP Mahmood A Madani in connection with the LTC scam for allegedly causing a loss of Rs 5.75 lakh to the exchequer by submitting wrong claims.
The Janata Dal-United on Sunday suspended its Rajya Sabha MP Anil Sahni from its parliamentary board over his alleged role in the Leave and Travel Concession (LTC) scam.
Rajya Sabha chairman Mohammed Hamid Ansari had on April 15 given his approval to CBI to prosecute Sahni for his alleged role in the LTC scam.
The Leave and Travel Concession scam relates to reimbursements being claimed against fake boarding passes and bills from the Rajya Sabha Secretariat.
With CBI getting nod to prosecute him in the alleged cheating and corruption in the LTC Scam, JD(U) Rajya Sabha MP Anil Sahni Friday denied the charges and refused to resign.
