The Lucknow-Agra Expressway will remain partially closed today due to shifting of the power transmission lines, and will fully open at 2.45 PM on March 29, 2023.
Truck caught fire while moving on Lucknow-Agra Expressway. In the video, the truck is seen burning in flames. The fire brigade team extinguished the fire after reaching the spot.
The accident happened due to dense fog and high speed.
The sleeper bus was going from Anand Vihar Delhi to Sultanpur.
The bus had left Delhi on Sunday evening with 30 passengers.
According to the latest reports, passengers inside the bus have been rescued.
Two buses collided on Uttar Pradesh's Agra-Lucknow Expressway on Thursday morning due to dense fog.
At least six persons were killed and 18 others were injured on Thursday when three vehicles were involved in an accident on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway in Mirzapur Ajigawan village here, police said.
The accident occurred in Auras police station area on the bridge over Sai river late last night.
Under low visibility conditions due to fog, the cars rammed into a stationary truck on the expressway in Unnao district.
Several passengers have suffered injuries but there are no reports of any fatality.
A patch of Lucknow-Agra Expressway will be closed for traffic on Monday, a day ahead Indian Air Force (IAF) planes take part in an exercise to use the highway as landing strip on October 24.
The drill will be conducted by the IAF in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh Government.
According to the Defence Ministry officials, the drill will be carried out on October 24.
"At the meeting it was decided that 24 police outposts will be set up," a police spokesperson said.
Barely four months after it was thrown open to public, former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav's ambitious Lucknow-Agra Expressway project has come under the scanner of the Yogi Adityanath government.
Uttar Pradesh BJP president Keshav Prasad Maurya also mocked the recently launched 'Dial 100', meant to offer prompt response to any distress call to the police helpline.
