Magnetic fields News
In a first, astronomers have captured astonishing image of black hole's magnetic fields
Images have been released by the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT)
It revealed how the black hole, some 55 million light-years away at the centre of galaxy M87, appears in polarised light.
A relatively small but growing active region on our sun illustrated the fierce battle of magnetic fields as they connect and reconnect and struggle from May 30-31, 2016.
This time, the US space agency has once again managed to get us hooked on to the fiery star after it released an image depicting the sun's magnetic fields.
Using a recently developed technique to detect magnetic fields inside stars, a team of astronomers has discovered that these are very common in stars.
This video was taken by NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory on November 11-12, 2015.
Earth-like planets orbiting close to small stars probably have magnetic fields that protect them from stellar radiation and help maintain surface conditions that could be conducive to life, new research shows.
Scientists have discovered the first massive binary star, epsilon Lupi, in which both stars have magnetic fields.
