According to the new guidelines, level 3 restrictions will continue in administrative units till the district disaster management authority takes a call to withdraw them. The weekly positivity rate and oxygen bed occupancy formula for lifting restrictions will no longer be followed.
The government has decided to stick with its five-level unlock plan.
"The Delta plus variant could stoke a third wave in Maharashtra. It could spread at double the rate," the state health department said.

The Uddhav Thackeray-led Maharashtra government announced that it will lift COVID-19 lockdown restrictions in the state from Monday.
The state government added that the restrictions will be relaxed on the basis of the COVID-19 positivity rate and availability of oxygen beds.
