Rohan Bopanna and Ramkumar Ramanathan continued their brilliant run at the Tata Open Maharashtra and entered doubles final after a thrilling win over Sadio Doumbia and Fabien Reboul at the Balewadi Stadium in Pune on Saturday.
It turned out to be a day of upsets at the Tata Open Maharashtra as Kamil Majchrzak knocked out second seed Lorenzo Musetti while defending champion Jiri Vesely also exited along with two more seeded players here on Friday.
The star Indian pair cut short the challenge of Austrian Alexander Erler and Czech Jiri Vesely in the Last-8 match with a nail-biting 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (7-4) victory.
Rohan Bopanna and Ramkumar Ramanathan clinched the title in Adelaide earlier in January in their maiden outing together and will play against American duo of Jamie Cerretani and Nicholas Monroe in the opening round at the fourth edition of South Asia's only ATP 250 Tour event.
The season-opening Maharashtra Open will be a USD 550,000 event, which is USD 44,270 more than the Chennai Open.
