A major fire broke out in a shop near Maya Hotel in Mumbai's Mankhurd. 12 fire tenders were rushed to the spot, 8 more were deployed shortly. Rescue operations are currently underway.

The Maratha community, predominant in Maharashtra politics, had earlier taken out silent marches in various districts of the state last year.

Three members of a family were killed and 15 others injured in a fire caused by a gas cylinder blast here on Thursday, an official said.
