Facebook – the Internet behemoth that it has turned into – and its CEO are not new to controversies.
After stirring up the hornet's nest with his "anti-colonialist" remark about India, Facebook board member Marc Andreessen Thursday apologised saying it was "ill-informed and ill-advised" comment about Indian politics and economics.
Writing on Facebook, Zuckerberg said the comments do not represent what he or the social network thinks of India.
Marc Andreessen, a prominent venture capitalist and Facebook Inc board director, apologised on Wednesday for tweets that condemned the Indian government for banning the social media company`s free Internet service.
Andreessen, one of Silicon Valley's foremost venture capitalists, and his partner Benedict Evans took to Twitter to vent out their frustration about telecom regulator TRAI banning Facebook's Free Basics and other such plans that charge different rates for Internet access based on content.
Marc Andreessen is a wealthy Silicon Valley entrepreneur and investor.
"After 6 years of service + completed decision to split, I`ve decided now is a good time to step off the eBay board of directors," Andreessen tweeted on Monday.
