The two leading exchanges -- BSE and NSE -- have systems in place wherein anyone can submit a tip-off through a toll- free phone number, email or directly on their websites.

Markets regulator Sebi on Tuesday said it has introduced an online platform for portfolio managers and venture capital funds which will make it convenient for them to do business.

Stock brokers, merchant bankers and other market intermediaries can now register online, with regulator Sebi operationalising a portal for the purpose.

To ensure more transparency, the bourses would also be required to provide investors with details about status of their public issue applications through SMS and e-mail.
