Three Russians and a Ukrainian will face murder charges for the July 2014 downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 over eastern Ukraine in which 298 people were killed, in a trial to start in the Netherlands next March, an investigation team said on Wednesday. The suspects are likely to be tried in absentia, however, as the Netherlands has said Russia has not cooperated with the investigation and is not expected to hand anyone over.

All people on board the Boeing 777 died when it broke apart in mid-air flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur.

Malaysia Airlines announced today it has reached a settlement with an Australian family who lost four family members on Flight MH17.

Moscow today summoned the Dutch ambassador to complain over the findings of a criminal probe into the downing of Malaysia Airlines MH17 that said the missile used to shoot it down was brought in from Russia.

A 2-year probe found that the vehicle carrying the missile was driven from Russia into an area of eastern Ukraine controlled by Moscow-backed rebels.

The missile which brought down Flight MH17 two years ago over eastern Ukraine was transported into the area from Russia, a Dutch-led investigation found Wednesday.

The families of the 298 people who died when flight MH17 was downed over Ukraine are steeling themselves for a slew of bitter legal battles, on the eve of the tragedy's second anniversary.  

In October, an international inquiry concluded that the Boeing 777, which was en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, was shot down by a Russian-made BUK surface-to-air missile.

Relatives of those killed in the MH17 air disaster today urged Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte to launch a global campaign to obtain radar images which may help pinpoint who fired a missile at the plane.

The report rejects Moscow's contention that the plane was hit by a missile fired by Ukrainian troops.

The Russian manufacturer of the missile system blamed for shooting down flight MH17 said on Friday it would unveil the "real reasons" for the disaster on the same day Dutch investigators present their final report on the tragedy.

 The Dutch government said Friday it would repatriate more remains of victims from last year`s Malaysia Airlines MH17 air crash over Ukraine, as it prepared to publish a report into the cause.
