Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar and Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will represent India in the third India-US 2+2 ministerial dialogue with US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo and Secretary of Defence Mark Esper.

The US State department said that the LAC situation will be discussed at the 2+2 meet in New Delhi next week. This is the third US-India 2+2 Foreign and Defence Ministers meet. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and US Defence secretary Mark Esper will participate meet on October 26 and 27.

The third edition of the two-plus-two dialogue between India and the US will entail a comprehensive discussion on cross-cutting bilateral issues. It will also include deliberations on regional and global developments, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Thursday. US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo and Defence Secretary Mark T Esper will visit India on October 26 and 27 for the high-level dialogue.

The Centre on Wednesday announced that India will be hosting the third India-US 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue on October 27 in the national capital. US Secretary of State Michael R Pompeo and Secretary of Defence Mark T Esper will be visiting India on October 26-27 to participate in the dialogue. From the Indian side, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will lead the delegations.

 US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo also spoke with Abu Dhabi`s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and discussed the "defensive action" of US President Donald Trump over Soleimani`s killing.

Pompeo expressed his understanding of India's concerns regarding cross-border terrorism.
