Ending months of speculations, AirAsia India on Thursday said Amar Abrol will replace Mittu Chandilya as its CEO with effect from next month.

Higher capacity deployment coupled with increased frequency on two routes helped budget carrier AirAsia India to make a robust 134 percent growth in passenger traffic as it flew over half-a-million customers in October-December period of 2015.

Media was abuzz Thursday with reports saying no-frills carrier AirAsia India's Managing Director and CEO Mittu Chandilya has quit.
