Mobile operator Bharti Airtel on Sunday said it has rolled out over 20,000 units of Aadhaar based e-KYC solution across India, and plans to have the facility deployed in over 500,000 retail outlets, including in rural pockets, in the coming months.

Getting mobile SIM activated for Aadhaar number holders may be a matter of few minutes in the coming days as government has decided launch a pilot project to test UIDAI's electronic-Know-Your-Customer service.
Earlier, the Home Ministry had raised concerns over the use of Aadhaar number as a single source of identity verification.
