Amid rising threats and post-Pahalgam attack tensions, the Union Home Ministry has ordered nationwide mock drills on May 7 across 259 districts to boost civil defence readiness, focusing on sirens, blackouts, training, and emergency response at all levels.  

The exercise will take place on May 7 and is meant to test how ready India is to handle a hostile attack through different emergency situations.
