Mohammed Akhlaq's family had moved the Allahabad High Court against a recent session court order directing a police case be filed against them for storing and consuming beef.

A day after a fresh forensic report revealed that meat sample recovered from outside the Dadri lynching victim's Mohammed Akhlaq, was of a cow, the accused's family are planning to register a complaint in this regard. 

Akhlaq was beaten to death by a 200-strong mob which barged into their house in Greater Noida's Dadri following rumours that the family had consumed beef.

Almost five months after Dadri lynching case in September last year, the kin of  Mohammed Akhlaq were handed over four flats by Greater Noida Authority.

Amid political slugfest on the lynching of a Muslim man in Uttar Pradesh over beef-eating rumours, Union Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju on Friday said that anyone with an element of humanism would condemn the incident and such things must be checked.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday said "strict action" will be taken in the case of lynching of a Muslim man in a Uttar Pradesh village over rumours that he ate beef.

While Opposition continues to attack the Narendra Modi government over the Dadri lynching incident, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator Sangeet Som has maintained that there is no need for the Prime Minister to make a statement on every murder across the country.
