Mumbai all-rounder Musheer Khan, younger brother of India batter Sarfaraz, is "stable" after suffering a road accident on the outskirts of Lucknow but is set to miss cricketing action for a prolonged period starting with the upcoming Irani Cup. The 19-year-old is expected to be out of action for at least three months due to neck injuries he sustained in the accident, effectively ruling him out of Mumbai's matches at the start of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season, starting from October 11.

The big names like Sarfaraz scored only 9 while Rishabh Pant collected 7 runs. Star batter Yashasvi Jaiswal was the top scorer with 30 as India A pacers, led by Akash Deep, Avesh Khan, and Khaleel Ahmed, attacked the first two sessions.

While Sarfaraz Khan had an outstanding stint with Indian team in his debut series, brother Musheer showed he is ready for IPL cricket by slamming hundreds in U19 WC and Ranji Trophy. Both are good contenders to replace Suryakumar Yadav.

In three Ranji matches so far, Musheer has scored 433 runs at an average of 108.25, with two centuries and a half-century. His best score is 203*.

Coming in to bat at No. 3, Musheer Khan did well to stem the flow of wickets for Mumbai with a 43-run stand for the fifth wicket with Suryansh Shedge (20).

In February this year, Arjun Tendulkar and India batter Ajinkya Rahane were named in the Mumbai Ranji Trophy squad. The left-handed allrounder, who has represented Mumbai in T20 matches, is yet to make his first-class debut.
