In the State Assembly, Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij said, "Haryana INLD chief Nafe Singh Rathee's murder case will be investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The accused of this murder case will not be spared and the strictest action will be taken. Police are investigating this matter."

Rathee's family have refused to allow the police to take the body for postmortem and even said that they won't perform last right till the arrest of the accused.

Nafe Singh Rathee was shot dead yesterday by some unidentified assailants near the railway crossing at Bhadurgarh in Haryana's Jhajjar district.

Rathee's political career spanned from 1996 to 2005, during which he also contested elections for the Rohtak Lok Sabha seat.

Rathee, a former MLA, was traveling in an SUV in Bahadurgarh town when unidentified assailants in a car ambushed him.
