A Pakistani court sentenced three men for vandalising Gurdwara Nankana Sahib in January 2020.
A violent mob had attacked the Gurdwara and pelted stones threatening to destroy the Gurdwara to build ‘Ghulaman-e-Mustafa’ shrine there.
The Pakistani Anti-Terrorism court handed a two-year jail term to the three accused.

India on Monday (January 6) summoned acting Pakistani High Commissioner Syed Haider Shah to lodge protest over desecration of Nankana Sahib Gurdwara and murder of a Sikh Youth in Peshawar.

Gurdwara Nankana Sahib was attacked allegedly on the opposition by the Sikhs to forcible abduction and conversion of a Sikh girl in the Nankana Sahib city in August 2019.

Hours after the reports of this incident, India in strongly condemned the "wanton acts of destruction and desecration of the holy place". India also asked the Pakistan government to take immediate steps to ensure the safety, security, and welfare of the Sikh community and of the Gurdwara. It also asked the Pakistan government to take strong action against the miscreants who indulged in the acts.
