Last month, special judge for cases under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) M G Deshpande had allowed Goyal (74) to undergo medical tests by private doctors.
Goyal, nabbed on September 1, 2023 in connection with a money-laundering case, is currently in judicial custody and lodged at the Arthur Road Central Jail (ARCJ), as his bail plea is pending.
This action is part of an ongoing money laundering investigation involving M/s Jet Airways (India) Limited (JIL), which ceased to its operations in April 2019 after 26 years of service due to financial troubles.

On the complaint of Canara Bank management, CBI had registered a case of bank fraud of Rs 538 crore against Naresh Goyal.
