NIA arrested the absconding Maoist Singhrai Soren from Jharkhand in a case pertaining to the seizure of arms and ammunition from the CPI (Maoist) in Giridih district of Jharkhand
The arrested accused is being produced before the Special NIA Court, Ranchi.

The NIA registered the case on September 16, 2020 following the seizure of 83.621 Kgs of smuggled gold bars with a market value of Rs 42.89 crore
The gold was seized at New Delhi Railway station on August 28, 2020, from the possession eight persons
"Interrogation of these accused has so far revealed that they had collected the said consignment from Guwahati for its further delivery at New Delhi," the NIA said

Shabir Shah is at present in judicial custody after the Enforcement Directorate arrested him last month in connection with an earlier case of money laundering.
