The Skill India's 'Rozgar Mela' gave an opportunity to job seekers of Lucknow to learn more about potential employers and various employment opportunities available.
The telecom industry, which has been witnessing job losses due to consolidation, is expected to create over 10 million employment opportunities in the next five years.
The Indian contingent comprises 28 participants and will represent the country at the competition to be held between October 14-19.
The event was graced by M Nagaraju (IAS, Principal Secretary, Government of Tripura, Industries and Commerce Department (Skill Development) distributed offer letters to the first batch of 60 trainees of Bru Tribes at a placement ceremony in Tripura.
Having accorded top priority to skill development, the government now aims to impart skills to around 40 crore people by 2022 for which it will formulate a national plan by March next year.
About 18 lakh candidates have been enrolled and 17.93 lakh have been trained as on July 18 under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY), Parliament was informed Thursday.
