The coaches, unveiled by NCRTC MD Shalabh Goel, will be used for the operations of Meerut Metro. The modern, commuter-centric features of Meerut Metro is such that it looks sleeker than Delhi Metro.

The Meerut Metro Trains will comprise of three (3) Car Train sets. It will have an ergonomically designed 2x2 transverse as well as longitudinal seating arrangement and more than 700 passengers can travel in a train.

NCRTC is targeting to open the entire 82-km long Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut for the public by 2025 and will operationalize a 17-km long Priority Section between Sahibabad and Duhai Depot shortly.

The first tunnel breakthrough in Meerut was achieved in October 2022 and with the sixth and last breakthrough, tunnelling is complete in the underground section, said NCRTC.
