K P Sharma Oli assumed the role of Nepal's Prime Minister for the third time, tasked with leading the new coalition government and addressing the pressing need for political stability in the country.

The political crisis in Nepal started after PM K P Sharma Oli suddenly decided to dissolve parliament and announced elections in December. The step was taken after stating that there is a lack of cooperation on key policy issues by leaders of the rival faction of his ruling party.

"At the invitation of Prime Minister of India HE Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister Rt Hon Mr K P Sharma Oli is paying an official visit to India to attend the former`s swearing-in ceremony to be held on May 30, 2019 in New Delhi. The Rt Hon. Prime Minister will leave Kathmandu for New Delhi on May 30, 2019," a statement read.

The electoral process to elect new Nepal Prime Minister has been halted in Nepal due to the disruption by opposition Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML) in Parliament over the vote count in Bharatpur.
