New Delhi Municipal Corporation raises parking charges at crowded spots like Connaught Place, Khan Market, and Mandi House, doubling rates to discourage private vehicle use.

The Delhi Police on Wednesday arrested six persons, including the managing director of a prominent hotel in New Delhi area, in connection with the murder of a lawyer associated with the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC).

 Unsuccessful in dealing with the monkey menace despite trying several methods including power fencing and air guns, NDMC has now decided to go back to the traditional way of trapping apes in cages by luring them with food.

Alarmed by spurt in dengue cases in the capital, Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Shashi Kant Sharma has ordered audit of the preparedness of the Delhi government and local authorities to deal with mosquito menace.

With over 1,900 fresh dengue cases and 12 deaths reported in the last one week, the total number of people suffering from the vector-borne fever has climbed to 3,791.

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has issued over 3,000 notices including 90 to the sprawling Rashtrapati Bhawan besides hospitals, government offices and schools during this season after dengue mosquitoes were found breeding in their premises.
