Bangladesh pacer Taijul Islam helped the 'Bengal Tigers' take a 44-run lead over the visiting New Zealanders at the end of play on the second day of the opening Test in Sylhet. Earlier, a ton by batting talisman Kane Williamson helped New Zealand reach 266/8 after the game was called off early due to bad light on Wednesday.

Kane Williamson has scored 29 hundreds in Test cricket equalling Virat Kohli's numbers and he has done it faster than the Indian batter.

Bangladesh’s first win in any format of the game in New Zealand gave them a 1-0 lead in the two-match series with the second match starting in Christchurch on Sunday.
