China Covid-19 Outbreak: According to new projections from the US-based Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), China's abrupt lifting of its stringent Covid-19 curbs could result in an explosion of cases and over 10 lakh deaths next year.  

Arora said that children between the age group of 12-18 years behave very much like adults and since they are mobile, they need to be protected. He added that nearly two-third of COVID-related deaths have been recorded in the age group of 12-18.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Monday said that India has distributed over 750 million COVID vaccine doses since the launch of the nationwide campaign in January this year. At this rate, 43 percent of the country's population will be covered by December. COVID-19 Task Force Chairman NK Arora praised all the contributors to this mission.
