For the role, Anshuman flew to the national capital to meet some Delhi Police officers who were associated with the case.
The filmmaker says he cast veteran actor Soni Razdan for his latest release due to her acting skills, not name.
He said that is what they have tried to show in "No Fathers In Kashmir".
Veteran actor Soni Razdan believes her upcoming film "No Fathers in Kashmir" will give the audience a better understanding of the regular lives of the people in the conflict-ridden Valley.
It took over eight months for filmmaker Ashvin Kumar to get a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification for his forthcoming film "No Fathers In Kashmir". Veteran actress Soni Razdan, who plays a pivotal role in the film, says it was worth fighting for, and that whenever a story is told that is different from the popular narrative, the authorities try to curtail that voice.
Ashvin has been waiting for months for a certificate from the CBFC.
The story is about a teenage British-Kashmiri, Noor, who re-traces her roots in search of her father.
The board said any news of CBFC banning the film is "completely false" and all "responsible" people should take account.
Soni Razdan's movie 'No Fathers In Kashmir' is directed by Ashvin Kumar.
