With Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) all set to demolish the illegal portion of martyred National Security Guard (NSG) commando Lieutenant Colonel Niranjan Kumar's residence here, politics has taken its course.

After losing the "brilliant" officer Lt Col Niranjan EK, the NSG has now decided to revise its Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for defusing bombs and IEDs, a senior NSG official said.  

The Kerala govt on Wednesday announced a compensation Rs 50 lakh for the family of martyred NSG commando Lt. Col EK Niranjan, who was killed in the counter-offensive against terrorists at the Pathankot air base on Sunday.
