The net profit climbed to Rs 16,960.29 crore in the last fiscal from Rs 14,969.40 crore in 2020-21.
In the last year, income rose to Rs 13,4994.31 crore from Rs 11,5546.83 crore in the year-ago period.
NTPC's board has recommended a final dividend of Rs 3 per equity share.

The company's standalone net profit in January-March 2018 was Rs 2,925.59 crore, an NTPC statement said.

Its total income on standalone basis stood at Rs 2,3617.83 crore in Q4 of 2017-18, against Rs 20,886.85 crore a year ago.
