Emergence of baby Olive Ridley marine turtles along Gahirmatha beach on Odisha's coast has provided relief to conservationists.
Baby turtles generally emerge about 45 or 50 days after nesting.
Over 3,55,000 eggs have been laid by Olive Ridley sea turtles within a week of mass nesting in Rushikulya river mouth of Ganjam coast, which is an all-time record.
The Coast Guard patrol in turtle congregation sites would remain in force till the turtles finish laying eggs on nesting beaches, the DIG said.
