Rahul Gandhi took a swipe at the Defence Minister's statement, questioning the government's decision to inform Pakistan after targeting terror sites, that only non-military targets were hit, and that India did not seek escalation. Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7 to avenge the brutal Pahalgam terror attack.
Owaisi began his speech in the LS by acknowledging the bravery of the Indian armed forces, stating that the military had responded with courage and precision. However, he sharply criticised what he described as the government’s selective nationalism, questioning why praise for Indian pilots was withheld while foreign leaders.
Home Minister Amit Shah in Lok Sabha on Monday said that while the Opposition parties' speakers were addressing the House, the government MPs were patiently listening. He added that the Opposition does not have faith in the External Affairs Minister of India.
Commencing the highly anticipated debate on 'Operation Sindoor', Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paid tributes to the bravehearts who risked their lives in the line of duty for the nation, and also informed the Lok Sabha that the S-400, Akash Missile system, and Air Defence guns proved to be very useful and foiled Pakistan's attack.
