Pakistan hockey team will open their campaign in the Asian Champions Trophy 2023 in Chennai on Thursday.

Pakistan hockey team have reached India to compete in the Asian Champions Trophy (ACT) 2023 hockey tournament, which will take place in Chennai from Thursday.

Pakistan did find a number of chances to score through Penalty Corners in the fourth and last quarter but India keeper Shashikumar Mohith Honnenahalli made some sensational saves to keep his side ahead.

Siegfried Aikman had flown back to homeland late last year without resigning. He waited for six months to get his arrears. But a constant snub by PHF led him to finally put his papers.

The Pakistan Hockey team on Saturday arrived at Bhubaneswar ahead of the Men's Hockey World Cup in Odisha. The team was received at the Wagah Border earlier in the day for the much-awaited showpiece. 

Farhat was brought in as head coach in July after Pakistan fared badly in the World hockey league tournament in London and replaced Khawaja Junaid and Hanif Khan. But even his tenure was littered with disappointments with Pakistan failing to even make the final of the Asia Cup. The team was lost by nine goals to Australia in a four-nation event in Perth and also suffered successive defeats against Japan.
