The US has imposed sanctions on Pakistan after Islamabad refused to take back its citizen deportees and visa over-stayers from America, warning that it may withhold visas of Pakistanis beginning from its senior officials.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has said three Pakistani nationals, including a nine-year-old girl, would be given visa for their medical treatment in India.

Rajnath Singh on Sunday said that a referendum must be conducted in Pakistan to check whether their citizens want to remain there or want to merge with India.
