Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu noted on Sunday a "significant decline" in Palestinian attacks on Israelis, after six months of near-daily violence that has cost more than 200 lives.

The attack took place as Biden was meeting with former Israeli President Shimon Peres nearby, at the Peres Center for Peace in Jaffa.

Medics said they had taken nine people to hospitals in Tel Aviv, with police saying two of them had been pronounced dead.

Since mid-September, Palestinian attacks have killed 17 Israelis, mostly in stabbings, while 84 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire.

Israel's High Court on Wednesday said it agreed to briefly postpone demolition of a settler synagogue and seminary built on Palestinian land, after police requested a delay on security grounds.

Israel has asked FIFA to condemn the recent comments of the president of the Palestinian Football Association, Jibril Rajoub, who glorified Palestinian attacks against Israelis.

Israel is struggling to stop a wave of attacks that have raised fears of a full-scale uprising.
