India's Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist PV Sindhu on Tuesday made a winning return from a long break from badminton as she won her first-round match at the Denmark Open on Tuesday, beating Neslihan Yigit of Turkey in straight games.

The three shuttlers -- Parupalli Kashyap, HS Prannoy and Pranaav Jerry Chopra -- recently attended Guru Sai Dutt's wedding which took place on November 25 in Hyderabad.

The duo also met Himachal Pradesh Governor Bandaru Dattatreya and expressed desire to open a badminton academy in the state. Nehwal and Kashyap tied the knot in December 2018 in a traditional ceremony in Hyderabad. The pair had pulled out of Denmark Open last month before the tournament was eventually cancelled due to COVID-19.

Sindhu will take on Russia's Evgeniya Kosetskaya in the first round of the tournament. 

Ace Indian shuttlers B Sai Praneeth and Parupalli Kashyap on Thursday suffered a major blow as they crashed out of the ongoing China Open badminton tournament after going down in their respective second round clashes in Fuzhou. 

Ace Indian shuttler Parupalli Kashyap suffered a major blow as he knocked out of the ongoing Korea Open after slumping to straight games defeat at the hands of top-seed Kento Momota of Japan in the semi-final clash at Incheon in Korea on Saturday. 

Kashyap, the 2014 Commonwealth Games champion, is currently the lone Indian survivor in the tournament. 

With the win, Kashyap has now set up a clash against top-seed Kento Momota of Japan for a place in the summit showdown of the tournament. 

Kashyap rebounded strongly from the second game down to seal a 21-17, 11-21, 21-12 win over Daren Liew of Malaysia in the pre-quarterfinal clash of the tournament that lasted 56 minutes. 

The defeat meant that Saina was eliminated from the World Championships before the quarter-finals for the first time since 2007. 

Leaving a strong legacy behind, the BJP stalwart breathed her last at the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the national capital on Tuesday.
