Brazil football legend Pele has died at the age of 82

His family said the football legend Pele, who has been admitted to the hospital since late November, will stay there over the Christmas weekend. 

Pele was admitted to the Albert Einstein hospital late last month to treat a respiratory infection and reassess chemotherapy

Brazil's players also displayed a banner supporting Pele on the pitch as they celebrated their victory over South Korea, following which they moved into the quarterfinals.

Brazil will next play Croatia in the FIFA World Cup 2022 quarterfinal on Friday (December 9). Neymar scored his first goal of this year’s World Cup after kissing the ball and calmly sending a low shot from the spot after waiting the goalkeeper to choose a side in the 13th minute.
