"GOI wants to push the plight of Kashmiri Pandits under the rug because its their callous policies that've led to unfortunate targeted killings of those who chose not to flee. Projecting us mainstream as their enemy is why Ive been placed under house arrest today," Mufti wrote on Twitter.

“Sad that Congress is unable to rise above party interests because AAP is a formidable opponent. Having been a victim themselves of ED onslaught yet they are joining BJPs propaganda. At a time when agencies are being weaponised, the Opposition should’ve rallied together," Mufti said.

“Voting rights to non-locals is BJP conspiracy to win elections. Every blood drop that drops in Kashmir is cashed by them in country. They want to make BJP nation not Hindu nation,” Mufti said. 

PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti praised Pakistan's judiciary for convicting accused in a lynching case and criticized the Indian judiciary's handling of lynching cases as reported by PTI.

Mehbooba Mufti alleged that for the last three years, the ruling BJP has created a “terrible atmosphere” in Jammu and Kashmir as employees are being fired from their jobs.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was formed in 1998 by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as a regional alternative to the National Conference. The party grew from strength to strength during the last two decades with many political stalwarts joining it. Several technocrats and bureaucrats, after retiring from service, also joined the PDP over the years.

The former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister challenged the Bharatiya Janata Party asking the party to fight her politically. Mehbooba Mufti asserted, "Fight me politically and not through NIA or ED. I have nothing to hide."

The killing of the PSO of a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader is an attempt to disrupt the election process in Jammu and Kashmir, said J&K DGP Dilbagh Singh. The DGP spoke on the sideline of the wreath-laying ceremony of the PSO martyred in a terror attack in Natipora area of Srinagar.

"When they can talk with China despite that they are grabbing our land in Ladakh, there should be a dialogue between India and Pakistan," said Mufti. The PDP chief launched a scathing attack on BJP-led govt at Centre and stated that they call Muslims as Pakistani, Sardars as Khalistani and activists as urban Naxals. Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister also alleged that the Central government is not allowing secular voices to come up.

Three founding leaders of the PDP resigned after Mehbooba Mufti's remark on the tricolour. They stated that PDP has become second fiddle of National Conference (NC).

The Peoples Democratic Party said "illegal and unconstitutional" disempowerment was perpetrated on the people of Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019. It asserted that the changes were unacceptable and would be fought against in unison. The announcement was made after a meeting of senior leaders of the party chaired by PDP president Mehbooba Mufti.

She was in detention for over a year, since the eve of Centre scrapping Article 370. Jammu and Kashmir administration spokesperson Rohit Kansal tweeted, "Ms. Mehbooba Mufti being released".

Bukhari said putting mainstream leaders and workers behind bars in and outside Jammu and Kashmir does not serve any purpose, rather puts a question mark on the country's democratic set-up.

Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday asked the Centre to pause crackdowns and search operations in the state during the ensuing Ramadan, when Muslims fast and pray for a month.

The PDP supporters alleged that bogus voting was taking place at the polling booth. 

Mehbooba Mufti was returning after paying obeisance at a dargah in Khiram village when some people pelted stones on her cavalcade.

Assuring that her party would correct the 'wrongs' done by BJP, Mufti said that measures that are inclusive, rather than those which alienate people, must be adopted.
