There were no early reports of damage or casualties.
A 7.5-magnitude earthquake struck northern Peru on Sunday, destroying over 75 buildings and injuring at least 10 people.
The first quake, which struck at 5:45 pm (2245 GMT), was 601 kilometers (373 miles) deep.
